| PURPOSE: To
support the retention and growth of living wage jobs, a skilled workforce,
and competitive businesses in Oregon. |
| Region 13 of WorkSource Oregon (R13) supports the
ongoing success, growth and increased competitiveness of Baker, Union,
and Wallowa County business. They are looking to partner with the
in offering training grants of up to $40,000 for targeted workforce
training.

| Process: Businesses
wishing to apply for a training grant should answer the questions
below and submit it to the R13 Staff (see contact information below).
Please keep responses brief and to the point. The WRT will review
all applications and determine grant recipients according to funding
availability and regional training priorities. |
| Funding: Grants
will be funded up to $40,000. |
| Eligibility: Existing
business meeting the regional funding priorities and located in Baker,
Union, and/or Wallowa Counties. |

Priorities: Target
training to traded sector businesses and industry clusters
|
|
Promote job retention and creation
|
| Encourage business which are compatible with community
standards and existing businesses |
| Promote investment in training resulting
in skill realistic for the region |
| Seek to maximize investment of funds by leveraging
other sources in the region |
| Training programs which provide transferable skills,
raise individual competencies, and result in "career ladder"
advancements will be given extra consideration |
| Application Process and Timelines: |
| Applications are available anytime by emailing NEOEDD
or requesting an application form at NEOEDD. |
| The R13 Staff will advise applicants of the status
of the grant request within 30 days. If successful, the applicant
will receive a grant contract for review and signature. A WRT member
will contact the business to coordinate training details. Training
may begin upon verbal notification of approval. |
